On Thursday March 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections will hold a hearing on the Protecting Health Care Providers from Increased Administrative Burdens Act (H.R. 3633).  H.R. 3633 is a response by the House of Representatives to recent efforts by the Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) to exert jurisdiction over health care providers.  OFCCP believes it has jurisdiction over these providers based on their contractual relationships with federal health care programs, such as Medicare and TriCare.  Health care providers are concerned that OFCCP oversight will create significant and unnecessary paperwork, raising administrative costs and restricting access to care.  If passed, H.R. 3633 would bar OFCCP jurisdiction over any state or local government or “other recipient” that receives payment from the Federal government “related to the delivery of health care services to individuals.”

The hearing will take place in room 2175 of the Rayburn House Office Building.
